Have you seen the stats? The average age of skilled trade workers is steadily increasing, with the average age around 55. With only only 6 percent of high school students consider a career in the trades.
That means there’s massive opportunity for the next generations to step in and build a fulfilling and lucrative career.
As business owners who built our future on the trades we learned in high school, we want to share our story—because trades aren’t just a job. They’re the foundation for something bigger.

Backyard Projects That Sparked a Legacy
We started out wanting to rope. We knew we needed a place to train horses and store tack—so we built our first roping arena and stalls in the backyard.

A few years later, Trevor leaned into that hands-on experience when he suggested starting a business, which became Seven Peaks Fence and Barn.
"We started it in 2017 out of the back of our parents home." Matt shares. " We started in the custom installation business."
That little business run out of our parents house grew into horse panels, continuous fencing, and everything we offer today.
Watch our origin story here:
Skills That Built a Fencing Business
As kids, we got a behind-the-scenes look at business by watching our dad run his construction company. From that, we learned to show up, ask questions, and solve problems.
We took online courses, found mentors, and stayed curious. The skills we picked up while welding became the same mindset we used to learn leadership, inventory, marketing, and operations.

From Backyard Builds to National Reach
Now we’re manufacturing horse panels and continuous fencing in Mesa, AZ and Godley, TX. Our two locations support the ag industry and horse owners across the U.S.
We’ve expanded to include cattle handling systems, small livestock panels, round pens, and roping arena kits. In Arizona, we’ve gone full circle and now offer installation again—everything from shade structures to pipe and Del Mar panel fencing.
The Future of Trades
We’re living the reality that the trades matter—and that they can take you further than you ever imagined. Whether you’re still in high school wondering what comes next or you've spent years working with your hands, there’s real pride in this kind of work. We live it every day.
It’s not just welding, building, or installing. It’s solving problems, creating something real, and opening doors you didn’t even know were there.
